Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS)

Gary (Mike) Simpson  –  MSW, LICSW – Clinical Supervisor  has been a Clinical Social Worker with Central MN Mental Health Center since 1981.  He is a graduate of the School of Social Work at the University of Nebraska.  Over the past 32 years he has worked in Outpatient Services, Chemical Dependency Services and Intensive Residential Treatment Services.

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team

Kent Davis – MD  has been providing psychiatric services to CMMHC since February 1992. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of North Dakota Dr. Davis graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and completed his psychiatric residency at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.  He works with the Assertive Community Treatment program as well as out-patient services in St. Cloud.

Catherine LaGow MS, LP  Program Director  – Catherine is a psychologist with special interest in treatment of serious and persistent mental illness.  Catherine serves as clinical supervisor for the adult rehabilitative teams, including; Assertive Community Treatment, ICRS, Adult Targeted Case Management, and Four County Crisis Response Team.

Integrative Services

Beth Rhoads – MA, LMFT  completed a Masters of Arts degree in Adlerian Counseling Psychotherapy through Adler Graduate School in Richfield and holds a licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy.  Beth worked for Head Start as a Family Education Specialist for 10 years and served on the Children’s Mental Health Committee before joining CMMHC team in fall of 2009. Beth has had roles in ARMHS, Day Treatment, Targeted Case Management and outpatient therapy, leading to the position of Director of Health Integration.  The purpose of this role is to expand health Integration to all CCMHC programs and provide support for implementing this philosophy.  Part of her position is serving as the Project Director for the SAMHSA Behavioral Health and Primary Care Grant, and coordinating a MN DHS 0-5 Family Integration grant. Beth promotes a multi-generational, trauma informed, integrative approach with a primary focus on the best experience possible for clients throughout all the programs offered at CMMHC.

Joel Morseth – LICSW  received his Master’s degree in Counseling from South Dakota State University.  He is licensed by the MN Board of Social Work as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.  He worked as a therapist at the St Cloud Children’s Home until 1993.  Joel worked at the Central MN Mental Health Center prior to going into private practice at Midwest EAP Solutions in 2001.  He was also employed as a counselor at St Cloud State University in 2011 before returning to work at Central MN Mental Health Center. Joel has extensive experience working with children, adolescents and their families. His special interest lies in children/teens with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. He has provided individual, group and family therapy in multiple settings.  Joel provides Clinical Supervision to Targeted Case Management services.

Lexi Alm – MS, MHP  is working towards full licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist.  She is an outpatient therapist at the St Cloud Main office. Lexi received her bachelor’s degree from the College of Saint Benedict and her Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Cloud State University.  She has experience working with children in a classroom and in-home setting.   Lexi enjoys working with both children and their families including having a focus on and certification to work with the birth to 5 population.  She works with a wide variety of mental health problems and concerns including anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, stress, adjustment, attachment, and behavioral problems.

Targeted Case Management

Dawn Benson-Hance – MS, LPCC, LSW – is a licensed professional clinical counselor and a licensed social worker who has been providing direct services in the human services field since 1997.  She has been with CMMHC since 2007.   She received her Bachelor’s degree in social work from St Cloud State University (SCSU) in 2007 and her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University in 2013.  Dawn has completed the training needed to provide Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) based interventions to address trauma.  She is passionate about delivering client-centered counseling services for adults with serious mental health disorders.  Dawn has a special interest in providing counseling serving for adult children of alcoholics.

0-5 Integrative Services

Mary J. Linn – MS, LP  is a Licensed Psychologist at the St. Cloud Office Location with over twenty- five years of experience and evidence-informed interventions providing therapy services to children with mental health issues, and their families.  She has a broad base of knowledge and skills regarding mental health issues of ADHD, Oppositional Behaviors, Mood & Anxiety Disorders; the influence of environmental stressors including trauma, loss, and family change; Child Parent Psychotherapy and other evidence based practice to enhance relationship and developmental trajectory for very young children. Mary is a well known speaker in community regarding children’s mental health; works primarily with the Birth to Five Early Child Mental Health & School Linked Mental Health Programs; and Reflective Practice Consultation.  She earned her Master of Science and did her graduate studies in Psychology at St. Cloud State University. Mary has been trained in Trauma-Informed Child Parent Psychotherapy and working toward being on the National Registry.  Mary also participated in the Infant & Early Child Certificate Program at the University Of Minnesota and is working on Level III Endorsement Evidence Informed Treatment & Child Parent Psychotherapy  with children birth to five.
