Complex Trauma in School Settings

Discusses the challenges of addressing the complex trauma of children and youth in the ‘safe environment’ of school – both from the perspective of the student and the school community. We offer valuable insights and practical strategies for fostering resilience and implementing effective support systems within the educational setting. Topics include recognizing the signs of complex trauma, developing trauma-informed practices, and promoting self-care for students and educators.

Navigating Organizational Trauma

Dr. Steven Loos

addresses organizational trauma by focusing on organizational culture and environment and the adverse effects of chronic and unrelenting work stress as aftereffects of the pandemic. We provide meaningful methods for managing workload and response planning. Participants examine the impact of working with individuals with mental and chemical health difficulties and explore strategies to prevent and diminish the effects of this vicarious trauma. Finally, a discussion of self-care looks at how to help individuals and systems heal.
