Focus XII

Focus XII provides transitional, abstinence-based support for men 18 and older who are chemically dependent, with 24-hour staff coverage. It enables clients to move from a highly structured treatment facility to independent community living while receiving 15 hours of substance use disorder treatment per week.

CMMHC’s treatment utilizes:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Personal Resilience Therapy
Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy

12-step model of Alcoholics Anonymous/Narcotics Anonymous

participation is encouraged but not required

The Minnesota Department of Human Services and the Department of Health license our Focus XII services.

Qualifications for Services

Participants must have recently completed a licensed chemical dependency treatment program. Focus XII serves residents of Benton, Sherburne, Stearns, and Wright counties and others by contract.

Abby has a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling and Community Psychology and is working on a MA in Counseling and Psychological Services. Before CMMHC, she worked with adolescents and adults in outpatient and residential settings, completing chemical dependency assessments and group counseling. Abby is a member of the Minnesota Association of Resources for Recovery and Chemical Health (MARRCH). She is currently the Program Coordinator for CMMHC’s Focus XII residential program.

Karen received her bachelor’s degree in Community Psychology and Chemical Dependency from St. Cloud State University and is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC). She worked with diverse populations in residential, intensive outpatient, and correctional settings before joining CMMHC in 2018. Karen is currently the Program Manager of Focus XII.

Rik completed a bachelor’s in Individualized Studies and a master's in Advocacy and Political Leadership at Metro State University. He joined the CMMHC team as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC).
