Located at the main St. Cloud campus, our Residential Detox facility is licensed by both the Minnesota Department of Human Services and Department of Health. We offer 24-hour receiving, 24-hour nursing staff and mandatory chemical dependency evaluation. We have 15 beds and is an unlocked sub-acute medical facility that safely monitors persons admitted under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs or assists clients through a safe withdrawal. Stays are typically 12-72 hours and our staff provide a gateway to treatment resources. Admission is based on specific criteria and bed availability.

Meet Our Providers
Nancy Rossman–BS, RN, LADC
Nancy is licensed by the State of Minnesota as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She is also licensed as a Registered Nurse. Nancy is the Program Director at Central MN Receiving & Referral Center (Detoxification Program) and supervises the nursing in the Crisis Care program (Adult Residential Crisis Stabilization Program). Nancy has had years of experience working in Detox and worked several years as the community-based case manager for persons suffering from chronic homelessness and chronic alcohol use. She is a strong proponent of Harm Reduction and not putting our expectations on the persons we serve. Nancy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Nursing Major) from College of Saint Benedict and an Associate in Science Degree in Nursing from North Hennepin Community College.
Stephen is currently the Medical Director of subacute detox, the crisis unit, and Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS). He previously worked at Recovery Plus from 2000 until 2016. Dr. Swenson received his Doctorate of Medicine at Mayo Medical School in Rochester, MN. He developed a Suboxone Clinic, treating many patients with opiate dependence, while working at Recovery Plus. Dr. Swenson has been working at detox and CMMHC since 1994.
Sara Huelsman–BS, LADC
Sara is licensed by the state of Minnesota as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Sara specializes in assessment, case management, and education on abuse of alcohol and drugs. Sara has extensive experience working with chronic dependence and dual diagnosis clients. Sara uses reality based approach which focuses on the present and choice theory. She also uses harm reduction approach allowing clients to set goals and step down their use slowly at a manageable pace for the individual. Sara holds Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in psychology and a chemical dependency counseling certificate.
Sharynn is licensed by the state of Minnesota as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She has extensive experience with the Alcoholics Anonymous 12 step approach and working with families with addiction. Sharynn has 20 years’ experience working with adolescents and young adults, as well as their families educating them on addiction and offering them hope for recovery. Sharynn has enjoyed working with adults in various phases of their conditionals and duel diagnosis over the last 6 years at Central Minnesota Mental Health Center. Sharynn uses a multi-faceted therapeutic approach, utilizing motivational interviewing and client centered treatments; concentrating on meeting clients where they are at and treating them with respect. Sharynn is passionate about recovery and assisting others with meeting their recovery goals.
