Suicide Prevention & Recovery Month

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month and Substance Use Disorder Recovery Month. Although mental and chemical health is essential to address year-round, this dedicated month provides a time for people, organizations, and communities to join their voices and share that there is hope, help is available, and healing is possible. As a trusted mental and chemical health resource in central Minnesota, it is vital that CMMHC brings awareness and shifts perceptions about these topics to reduce the stigma surrounding having these difficult conversations.

We’ve developed a Toolkit around each topic available below to provide education and to engage our community. You will find information, FAQs, links to resources, and a calendar of local events to guide people in discovering more. We hope you’ll help us spread the word about the Toolkits to those who would find them helpful.

Who is this toolkit for?

This toolkit is designed for any resident, business, or visitor to the community to use as a starting point to talk about suicide awareness and prevention and substance use disorder recovery. As a recognized mental and chemical health leader in Benton, Sherburne, Stearns, and Wright counties, CMMHC wants to
provide our communities with the resources needed for education, information, training, and treatment. Community members can access and integrate this toolkit into their daily lives and practices.

Help CMMHC Get the word out!

As the month continues on, we encourage you to visit this page to find additional promotional tools we will make available to help promote the message about getting help for mental and chemical issues featuring the headline, “If life is not OK, it’s OK to call 320.253.5555. Any time. Any Reason.”

We will also be sharing posts on social media which we encourage you to follow us and share the messages.
